Angela Dunning, poetry, personal growth, soul
Becoming takes a lifetime
Of shedding and unveiling
Unwrapping the multi-layered selves
Cloaking the real you
It takes many u-turns and detours
Many set-backs and many joys
Becoming takes a lifetime
To discover yourself over and over
Anew each time
Beneath the dust and the cobwebs
And the many shiny personas
But She is down there, never fear
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
For the day, oh so many days
That you reach deep enough inside
And she giggles in delight
Or takes your hand with tears in her eyes
And thanks you for your perseverance
And for coming at last.
