angela dunning, poetry, personal growth, shyness, self-care

Sometimes
I want to be in
Not out
Simply stepping outside my front door
Is too much
When all I really want to do
Is curl up on the couch
With a book and a throw
Being out in the world
Just feels too much
So instead I let my shyness lead me
And as she guides me back in
I let go and relax
Into this self-made den
Glad to be able to listen
And wait at home
With my shy-self
For soon she’ll want out
And that’s okay too.
