Waiting for the tide to turn
Waiting, watching; how long?
Still, we wait
Slowly lapping softly
Back and forth
Back and forth
Shoreline creeping ever nearer
Inch by inch
More to land
The sea crawls in
Trying to take her stand
Yet just as you think she’s done, complete
Back she turns, once again in retreat
Now pulling back
Out once more
Back to the blue depths
Back out from shore
Just like a feeling
Reaching its way
Into a dawning
The tide is turning
We wait, ‘til that point
Holding the tension
Yet breathing in the sight
The way is now clear
Land once more is our right
Yet stay; my Soul whispers
Just one, maybe more; night.
